A quieter solitaire table

A good game of solitaire does not need to compete for your attention. Turn over a card, uncover a possibility, and take the next move at your own pace. Casa Solitaire keeps the focus on the familiar pleasure of Klondike: clear cards, a readable table, and one decision at a time.

There are no advertising interruptions, account forms, coins, or countdowns between you and the board. You can spend your attention on the cards instead: which column to open, which sequence to move, and whether the next draw gives you a new possibility.

How to play Klondike

Your goal is to move all 52 cards into four foundation piles, one for each suit, from Ace to King. The seven columns below them are called the tableau. That is where you arrange cards and uncover the ones still face down.

  1. Build by suit

Start each foundation with an Ace. Add cards of the same suit in ascending order: Ace, 2, 3, and onward to King.

  2. Alternate colors

Build the tableau downward. A red 7 can go on a black 8; a black Queen can go on a red King.

  3. Uncover hidden cards

Move face-up cards or valid descending, alternating-color runs to reveal the cards underneath.

  4. Draw one card

Use the stock when you need another option. In Draw 1, each draw turns over one card. An empty stock can recycle the waste.

Small choices. Better next moves.

Before making an obvious move, look at what it opens up. Moving a card that reveals a face-down card may give you more useful options than moving one that leaves the rest of the board unchanged.

Before emptying a column, check whether you have a King to use it. Only a King, or a valid run beginning with a King, can fill an empty tableau column. Undo can help you explore a different line of play; no tip guarantees every deal.

A card that can move to a foundation might still help you build a tableau sequence. Consider the whole board before choosing. Solitaire is a balance of what you know, what remains hidden, and the opportunities you create.

Familiar rules. Controls that fit your device.

The Klondike rules stay the same across iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV. The way you interact with the table changes to suit the device.

On iPhone and iPad, move cards directly with touch and drag. Optional tap-to-move assistance gives you another way to make legal moves. On Mac, use the pointer to arrange cards, with game commands available in the menu. On Apple TV, navigate the board with the remote and select a card or pile.

Undo lets you revisit a move. New Deal starts a fresh game. When a board is eligible for automatic completion, Finish can move the remaining cards to their foundations.

Questions about the game

Is this Klondike solitaire?

Yes. Casa Solitaire plays classic Klondike Draw 1: seven tableau columns, four foundations, and one card turned over from the stock at a time. Complete all four foundations to finish the game.

Why can I not put a card in an empty column?

An empty tableau column can hold only a King or a valid run beginning with a King. Other cards need a face-up card one rank higher and of the opposite color to receive them.

Why does a card not fit on a foundation?

Each foundation starts with an Ace and grows in order within one suit. For example, the 3 of hearts needs the 2 of hearts below it. You cannot skip a rank or mix suits.

Does Casa Solitaire require an account or show ads?

No. There is no sign-in requirement, and the app does not show ads.

Can I play on different Apple devices?

Casa Solitaire is available for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV. Availability on those devices does not imply that a game or its preferences sync between them.
